Owner FAQ

Please visit the “Change of Ownership” section of our website. There you will find information on how to make changes to your account, including change of address, death of payee, and sale of interest.

You have been assigned an exclusive owner number to distinguish you from Vital Energy’s other interest owners. Please include your owner number when communicating with Vital Energy.

Checks are mailed monthly provided your account has reached the minimum pay status.

The most common reason is because your account has not reached the minimum pay status. Vital Energy remits revenue once your balance exceeds $100. Should you prefer to receive revenue of $25 or more, please request in writing.

Occasionally, payments are held due to uncertainty as to ownership, such as notice of death, assignment of interest, unknown address or legal dispute. Payments due are released when the matter affecting ownership has been resolved.

1009s are issued on or before January 31 of the following taxable year. When January 31 falls on a weekend, they may be issued the next ensuing Monday.

Vital Energy has partnered with PNC Bank and FIS Integrated Payables to streamline Vital’s ACH and check payments. You may have received a letter from FIS Integrated Payables that details how to enroll in their ACH direct deposit program. The letter provides a unique Registration Code and asks you to visit a FIS Integrated Payables enrollment URL if you wish to enroll in direct deposit. Please contact the FIS Integrated Payables support team at (877) 330-4950 or agp.jax.vendorenrollment@fisglobal.com if you did not receive a letter and wish to enroll in direct deposit. Please have your current email address, mailing address, phone number, and Owner Number available at time of inquiry.

If you have received ACH payments from Vital Energy in the past but have not completed the new registration process with FIS, you will receive paper checks until registration is complete. Vital Energy will not share any current ACH information with any institution, so it is imperative that you register and enroll directly with FIS Integrated Payables.

If you have begun the registration process with FIS and need further assistance with registering for direct deposit, please contact the FIS Integrated Payables support team at 877.330.4950 or agp.jax.vendorenrollment@fisglobal.com.

If you wish to receive a paper check, no action will be needed other than continuing to keep your mailing address current. If you need to update your mailing address, please complete, and return a Change of Address form to Owner Relations at ownerrelations@vitalenergy.com. The fillable form can be found on our website under the “Change of Ownership” section.

Vital Energy processes ownership transfers in the order that they are received. We have a team dedicated to this process that works diligently to complete these requests in a timely fashion.

Vital Energy will suspend revenue only upon written request at the time of notification.

Backup Withholding
